To help you get set for winter, we’ve teamed up with Studio 10’s resident style expert, Victoria Latu, to explore the season’s most popular boot styles.
The block heeled boot
“The best thing about block heeled boots is that they give you that little bit of extra height, without hurting your feet – important for those of us who spent 2020 in flats!” says Victoria. Wear them over stockings with a beautiful dress, with tailored pants, or jeans.
The light-coloured boot
Looking for a boot that goes with (almost) anything? Light boots in cream or tan are really taking centre stage for their versatility. “With brown tones all the rage this winter, a boot in white or tan works to elevate any outfit,” says Victoria. “Couple a tight ankle boot with a longer midi skirt or choose a looser fit boot for when you need to tuck in the bottom of your pants or jeans.”
The combat boot
2021 sees the much loved (and incredibly comfortable!) combat boot make its way back into the limelight.
“There are so many varieties of combat boots available, from lace-ups and high-tops to ankle huggers and simple black lines, but they all have one thing in common – a chunky lug-sole platform that is perfect for walking everywhere.”
“These boots stand out, so keep it simple. Pair a combat boot with an oversized shirt, sweater vest and blue denim skinny jeans to let these big boots pop.”
The embellished boot
Embellished boots make a statement and are the perfect way to make a casual outfit stand out. Victoria’s advice? Don’t be afraid to be bold, “Think cowboy boots with a western pattern, boots with cut-outs and studded details – anything and everything is possible to jazz up your outfit. Take a few risks this winter and invest in an embellished boot that will draw the eye!”
You can find all sorts of on trend boots at Williams, Spendless Shoes, Sportsgirl, Cotton On, Target and Kmart.
