Active wear and the wind in my hair…
Active wear, whether it comes with the intended exercise or not, there’s no denying it’s super comfortable and one of the easiest outfits to throw on for a day of drop offs and grocery runs.
I headed out to the Casey Fields in Cranbourne East and tested out a few Summer active looks that will make you feel great whilst getting the job done, whatever that may be!
Fashion land has been loving co-ord sets for a few seasons now and Cotton On got the memo. With a nod to the 80’s these fun sets will inspire you to get moving! I love that these are high waist, super flattering even if you don’t like showing off the midriff.
Tip: Try the crop top under denim overalls or a baggy white tee for a fun casual outfit.
The Box Tee
A loose fitting cropped tee is a great staple to add to any wardrobe. This adidas one doubles up as a layering piece for your everyday outfits, wear it with a tight singlet underneath if you don’t want to show midriff or pair it with higher waist pants. I’ve never been a short shorts kind of girl but I do love this style with the bike shorts underneath, they give you a little extra cover but still lengthen the leg.
I couldn’t help but add one of my favourite accessories to have made a comeback this year… the bum bag! Wait for it, they will be everywhere!
Melbourne’s favourite colour…
A nod to Melbourne style with a simple black on black look will always look polished. Play with different textures such as cutouts or mesh inserts to break up the look.
Add a denim jacket and dark shades and you’re ready for a coffee date!
Soften it up with sorbets
If you look around the stores you will notice an influx of soft sorbet-inspired pastels. These colours work great with blacks and whites for active wear. Try something different by mixing and matching a few flavours. I love layering a coloured crop under baggy singlets. Look for styles with wide arm holes so a hint of colour peeks out. I have knotted this loose tank so it sits higher at the waist lengthening the leg.
